Teaching Philosophy

Professor George has taught across the theatre curriculum and he has experience offering general education, academic, and studio-based courses. He has taught in other disciplines including Speech Communication, Film, Philosophy, and Art History as well. His experience includes both part-time and full-time faculty and staff positions at two-year and four-year colleges. He has seen success and is comfortable with both traditional and non-traditional students.

Most recently, Dr. George has taught Fundamentals of Public Speaking and Introduction to Communication at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD. That institution has a very active professional development program that has enabled him to explore specific best practices for educators with returning-adult, veteran, first generation college, and LGBT students.
