Las Cazadores Invisibles

Las Cazadores Invisibles

Las Cazadores Invisibles was a Treehouse Troupe production.  More information on Treehouse Troupe is located on the Design and Technical Direction THT page here.

The Invisible Hunters was a musical targeted at kindergarten through grade-four audiences.  For this reason I wanted to keep it moving at a fairly fast and interesting pace.  By the same token, however, the show contained some very real lessons that I didn’t want to lose by speeding blindly past. Thus while the blocking was full of action and made full use of whatever space we were in, there were points in the show when perceptible pauses –for the children to think and react–had to be built in. There were many opportunities within the script for actor and audience to share space and I encouraged the ensemble not to acknowledge or build any sort of a wall between them and the audience.  This probably worked best when the house and audience became a jungle for the hunters to move through and in which to hunt.

Las Cazadores Invisibles
Three brothers, Primero, Segudo, and Tercero are hunters for a small Rio Coco village. They are successful because the Dar-Dar tree teaches them how to become invisible.
